It shouldn't be so difficult for an organization to reclaim the use of its name or acronym from someone who has misappropriated said name. I hope that you not only are forced to cease and desist, but also that you receive a punitive compensatory damages conviction. If everyone went around with domain names that belonged to other people or other institutions, the resulting confusion about naming and "authenticated text" would keep many people from participating in the Internet. This would be infinitely worse than for your sophmorical satire to have to have an address that doesn't confuse people seeking information on the PETA organization. Also, I find it ironic that people who insist on eating meat, wearing fur, testing products on animals, or whatever never stop to consider the inevitable outcome of mass-consumption of meat on the World's economies. For every pound of meat to reach a person's mouth there has been such a burden on the Earth's resources (1,000 lbs wheat/ 1,000 gals of water or whatever) that a person who eats meat and walks a mile actually consumes more of the Earth's resources than a person who has not eaten meat to DRIVE a CAR the same distance! Of course, you may not be concerned about who can afford to eat what, because you have your next burger available at the nearest drive-in burger joint. Unfortunately, the difference in the real-world value of meat and what consumers actually pay for it is swallowed up by the U.S. Gov't in the form of land grants, water subsidies, corn and grains subsidies, and additional benefits to agribusiness (which don't do crap to keep family farms operating!) which keeps getting added to our National debt. The real-world cost of a pound of meat? Considering the land, water, grains, handling, packaging, and transport of meat it should cost about $34 a pound, rather than $4 a pound. Where does that $30 go? Well, it either disappears as quickly as the Oglalla Aquifer as subsidies or it can begin to be paid for by the agribusiness interests that continue to make money hand over fist by America's meat-habit. So what are you doing about it? Aren't you just another cog in the vastly corrupt and decrepit Meat Industry machine that churns out pound after pound of abused animal flesh to be gobbled up by those who haven't asked themselves "Where's this burger come from, and who's paying for it?", aren't you just a toadie for these mega-corporations who are robbing people blind (Like RJR-Nabisco) with unhealthy diets and chemically-saturated cigarettes, burgers, and leather handbags? And why is it that your "People Eating Tasty Animals" makes no mention of the true obscenity involved here...not that PETA wants to protect animals and treat them humanely (not humanly) but that these corporations are making billions of dollars while depleting the environment, poisoning their customers, brainwashing children with "4 basic food groups" lies, and getting unsuspecting neophytes such as yourself to do all their dirty work for them? Finally, you may have the RIGHT to do this, but you should be RESPONSIBLE enough to turn over the domain name to PETA and do some serious thinking about WHY people are programmed to eat meat, abuse one another, and make the erroneous conclusion that Humans are somehow "better" than everything else in the world! (rather than simply Good Citizens in the global biosphere!) It's making some people very rich. Not you. Not me.
